I’ve never been to Albany and I don’t know where a good place to watch is, and how I should get there from I-5. Thanks for any info you can offer me. I”d prefer to be away from a lot of people if possible.

I do not know the area well enough.  The standard answer is “anywhere in the path where the weather is clear!”  You may want to go early and scout some locations.  Do not trespass on others’ land though!
